Straight Edge

        
Okay, so some of us know what Straight Edge is, and perhaps some of us don't. Basically, Straight Edge is an ideal that someone lives by. It means absolutely no drugs, no tobacco, no alcohol, and no casual sex (NOTE: I have no problem with vegans, but you don't have to be vegan to be straight edge)

The straight edge ideal may be a movement now, but it was started as a personal ideal by Minor Threat that has catched on, and now there are millions of Straight Edgers worldwide.

Now like all personal beliefs and ideals, Straight Edge has it's own holier-than-thou attitudes. But don't be mistaken, not all straight edgers are like that. Me personally, I believe in letting people do whatever they want. If people do drugs then I think it's all good, as long as they don't push it on me.

Besides, trying to police everyone else and forcing my views down everyone's throats is the complete opposite of punk. I think i'm not alone when I say that I wish we could live on a planet where all of us people can coexist peacefully, but we all know that is not possible.

But the least I personally can do is not to judge others even if they aren't like me, and to accept people for who they are and try to make the world a better place. You may be thinking "what's this got to do with being straight edge" Well it has everything to do with it. Being straight edge isn't something you do to be cool. It's something you devote yourself to, something you live by everyday.

So is it for everyone? No. Do I need to critisize others? No. I believe in just being an individualist and going on with my life, not bothering others. That is all
